1990 Fame shower





This is the plastic version of the "6th Series" shower from Fame. Compared to the metallic version, it has just the set of casing made of plastic. The water outlet bolter, heating chamber and switch chamber is made of PP, the top cover is the same used in the metallic version, made of ABS plastic.

It was available in different colors to match with the sanitary wares of that time, as white, light gray, ivory and beige. About 1993 the sieve and the water inlet screw was made in the same color of the product.

If you are a tourist travelling around South America, don't be fooled, poor hotels and public bathrooms used to be the worst places to find an electric shower correct installed. I see on the internet too much people blaming on how unsafe and unefficient electric showers are, but realize how many people are in Brazil using electrical showers since 40's and how many manufacturers (and the variety of models of showers as well) exist. Any electric appliances with a big power use to run bad if poorly installed and it is not different with electric showers.

Any type of electric shower was designed to heat the water, even very cold water, if the one you're using doesn't heat the water, there is something wrong with its electric connection for sure... Electric showers which are in service, but with some parts missing, like its alive parts uncovered / disassembled must be avoided, if you are paying for a hotel service, you must demand a new shower for you or maybe search for a better inn.

The stove was not originally in that location - I presume a refrigerator was since there is a 120 outlet there. The most difficult part of updating appliances is finding nice stuff and still keeping the original cabinets. In this case, a previous owner added a 24" range and added some new cabinets around it. I'm thinking I may be able to integrate things better with a cooktop instead.
